Williams Arizona Train Ride
A couple of weeks ago, we took a trip to “God’s Country” – Sedona, AZ. We stopped along the way in Williams, AZ and stayed 2 hours in that little “train” town. Lucky for us, it was National Train Day. We boarded a steam engine train rode it for 45 minutes through a canyon. We stood at the back in the caboose with the conductor. The train ride was like blast from the past. Listening to the engine release it’s steam, the whistle blowing, and looking out at the beautiful country side made me wonder what it would have been like to travel across America a hundred years ago on a train.
Most of the trains leaving Williams go to the Grand Canyon. Williams is the gateway to the Grand Canyon. I recommend stopping and checking out this darling little town if you are ever traveling from Flagstaff to Kingman, AZ on Interstate 40.
